In the cab
The cab camera watches the driver rather than the road. When it recognises drowsiness, a long glance away, a phone in the hand, smoking, or an empty seat while the vehicle is active, the driver hears a warning immediately — in the cab, in time to do something about it.
The same event goes to the platform with the time, the location and a short piece of footage, so a manager sees what happened rather than a line in a log.
On the road
The road camera records what is in front of the vehicle. Between the two cameras the cab and the road ahead are both covered, which is what turns a disputed incident into a settled one.
Recording is not continuous. Only events are kept — a short window before and after whatever was recognised — so there is no wall of footage to search through and far less data to store.
Driving behaviour, per driver
Separately from the cameras, the device analyses how the vehicle is being driven: harsh acceleration, harsh braking, sharp cornering and speeding. That produces a score for each driver, which makes comparison possible and progress visible over time.
It is the basis for an incentive scheme that works: the drivers with the best scores generally use less fuel and cause less damage.
Who was driving
With a card or a tag, each journey is tied to a specific person. Where several drivers share a vehicle, the reports are kept per driver rather than only per vehicle — otherwise a score says nothing about anybody.
The camera works in darkness and through glasses, using infrared illumination, so the record does not stop when the light does.
Worth knowing before you fit it

Frequently asked questions
Is footage recorded continuously?
No. Only events are stored — a short window before and after the recognised state — not a continuous recording.
How does this sit with data protection?
The system processes personal data, so before rolling it out the employer needs to inform employees and establish a lawful basis for the processing. We help with the technical settings, but the legal basis is the company’s responsibility.
Does it work at night?
Yes. The camera uses infrared illumination and works in darkness and when the driver is wearing glasses.
Does the driver get warned, or only the office?
The driver first. The warning sounds in the cab the moment a state is recognised; the platform gets the record afterwards.
Can we see live video?
Yes. Alongside the stored events you can look at what a vehicle is seeing at that moment.
