Driver Monitoring
Fatigue and inattention at the wheel are among the most common causes of serious road accidents. A driver monitoring system recognises these states as they happen and warns the driver in time.
Recognition camera (DMS)
The G400D device watches the driver’s condition and reacts to:
- signs of drowsiness and closing eyes
- inattention and prolonged glances away from the road
- phone use while driving
- smoking in the cab
- the driver being absent from the seat while the vehicle is active
When a state is recognised the driver gets an audible warning in the cab immediately. The event is recorded and forwarded to the platform with time, location and footage.
Driving behaviour
Separately from the camera, the device analyses how the vehicle is being driven: harsh acceleration, harsh braking, sharp cornering and speeding. That produces a score per driver, which makes comparison and progress over time possible.
This is the basis for incentive schemes — the drivers with the best scores generally use less fuel and cause less damage.
Driver identification
With a card or tag, each journey is tied to a specific person. When several drivers share a vehicle, reports are kept per driver rather than only per vehicle.
Frequently asked questions
Is footage recorded continuously?
No. Only events are stored — a short window before and after the recognised state — not a continuous recording.
How does this sit with data protection?
The system processes personal data, so before rolling it out the employer needs to inform employees and establish a lawful basis for the processing. We help with the technical settings, but the legal basis is the company’s responsibility.
Does it work at night?
Yes. The camera uses infrared illumination and works in darkness and when the driver is wearing glasses.
